What Happend Will? (2007-12-15)

It's cold here in Doyle Bluffs. We had a huge ice storm hit this week, and after clearing branches and even whole trees from the street and yard, I was ready to see a new flick. I've been excited to see the new Will Smith film "I Am Legend" for months, and since I liked the original Omega Man from the early 70's, I thought this a sure hit. Ugg. Slow. I mean..........S.....L....O...W! The scenes in an empty New York are great, and the premise had great potential. I thought Will did a good job of acting nearly by himself, but the monsters were fairly regular and the hand-held camera style gave this old farmer a headache. It would be fine for a DVD rental in a few months, but not worth admission to the theatre. What happened Will? You used to have the magic tough with the Sci-fi. Independence Day, Men in Black, I, Robot. A little disappointing.

First Half 4 Stars / Second Half 1 Star (2008-12-17)

Maybe it is the last third that blows it. What went wrong? This could have been good sci-fi. What a pity. We've had a lot of vampire and zombie movies over the years and many post-apocalyptic movies.... (More)
