Clever Story....only (2007-10-02)

Some things in life seem to go well together. Worms and hooks. Jam and bread. Overalls and farmers. Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin. These two world class comedians teamed up for the first time in the new movie Bowfinger, written by Martin. The clever story involves a washed up wanna-be filmmaker, played by Martin, who makes a new movie with an international action star played by Murphy. The fun of the movie is that the film is made without the star even knowing it. Many laughs ensue (not every farmer on the block uses the word “ensue” very often. I got it out of one of Gomer’s romance novels.) when the novice film crew puts a movie together without the knowledge of the star. The movie itself makes fun of Hollywood and “movie people” at every turn and there are many inside jokes throughout the picture. The pace of the film was a bit too slow for this old geezer, however, and the stars were not featured together often enough. I thought the idea was wonderful and my friend Gus Caputnik and I had many a laugh. It sure beats another two hours of riding the combine. Bowfinger was a very good cow. Not quite Rooster material, but close. A fun day at the movies.

A Rooster! I Thought It Was Outrageously Funny. (2008-10-25)

Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy are comic genius'. The plot is simple and the acting isn't shakespearian. It's a comedy! An hysterically funny comedy. Heather Graham is hot too! (More)

A Rooster! A Jewel of a Comedy... (2008-05-07)

If you want a good laugh, this movie is the answer. The premise is fresh, the plot keeps you on your toes, not knowing where it is going, but you love watching it all happen. Steve Martin... (More)
