A for Acting (2008-02-17)

Rescue Dawn has some of the best acting I've seen in years. The director Werner Herzog put together a masterful film that chronicles the true-life epic adventure of a Viet Nam pilot shot down in Laos. How he overcomes great odds, torture and great human suffering is incredible. Christian Bale is magnificent and Steve Zahn takes your breath away. Rounding out the cast is Jeremy Davies who gives a performance that will haunt you for days. The struggles of these prisoners of war is hard to watch, but the spirit and will of the characters draws you in for the whole movie. Wonderful acting. Wonderful direction. Beautifully shot. Rooster crowing.
