A Cow

A Slow Old Cow (2007-10-01)

Evolution is a science fiction comedy by director Ivan Reitman. It stars David Duchovny and Orlando Jones as a couple of community college professors who happen upon a meteor in the Arizona dessert. The meteor soon starts growing worms. As the film title suggests, evolution soon begins. Plants and bugs, dinosaurs and apes all spring from this movie that must have funny on paper, but doesn’t make it to the screen. Orlando Jones was bottled up in his character and they should have let him run amok. Duchovny has very good comic timing, and his character played well against his “X-Files” persona, but he didn’t have enough to work with. Julianne Moore is completely wasted in her silly scientist role. The special effects are excellent, especially the bugs, but they can’t carry the film. The idea of the film is good and there are many funny moments, but I spent most of the movie wishing it would end soon. Not a good sign. I did, however, find it interesting to see the chain of evolution. I didn’t realize that my friend Gomer is actually a species that shows up BEFORE fish. So actually, when Gomer is eating fish, he is eating things higher on the evolutionary scale. Now that’s more interesting than this movie. A slow old cow. Worth renting, but stay away from the theatre.

A Cow Just an Opinion (2009-08-03)

A stupidly funny movie .... I like it. If you like movies like Senseless, Half Baked, Dude Where's My Car you may like his one. Made for entertainment purposes only!!! (More)

A Rooster! Great Light Hearted Entertainment (2009-05-17)

This is a highly entertaining movie with little substance. The cast is fun (although David Duchovny is certainly stiff in a comedic role), the story is amusing and the production qualities are high. ... (More)

A Rooster! Evolution at Its Funniest (2009-03-11)

I love this movie. It's hilarious, and creepy, and so much fun to watch. My kids love it too! This will be watched until it warn out! (More)
